⧉Image Mao Badges: Chairman Mao Goes To Anyuan

This badge reproduces one of the most famous paintings of the Cultural Revolution, Liu Chunhua’s Chairman Mao goes to Anyuan (Mao zhuxi qu Anyuan 毛主席去安源) [see below]. The painting shows a young Mao, in traditional scholar’s robes and carrying an umbrella, on his way to organise a miner’s strike in Anyuan. In reality, Liu Shaoqi – the top leader to be targeted in the Cultural Revolution – played a more substantial role organising the Anyuan workers.
