This book is a Western religious school diary that was published for St. John’s in Shanghai. The Chinese author began writing in 1937, but the diary was taken over by a Japanese soldier after he captured it during the invasion of China in the summer of that year. It was later donated to the Osaka International Peace Museum (ピースおおさか・大阪国際平和センター).
